Gao Xingjian In Pursuit of a Modern Theater  Book Launch and Special Lecture 

In Pursuit of a Modern Theater was originally published in 1988, encompassing Gao Xingjian's theater-related discourses from 1982 to 1987. This book can be regarded as Gao Xingjian's personal summary of theatrical activities in China before 1987. It expounds on his philosophy of modern drama, discussing works from this period such as "Absolute Signal," "The Station," "Wild Man," "The Other Shore," outlining the conceptualization and practical implementation of these plays. The book also includes in-depth conversations with friends about the art of theater.

The upcoming new edition, published by NTNU, marks the third collaborative work between NTNU and Gao Xingjian. We are delighted to announce that Professor Tsu-Chung Su from our English Department will be delivering a special lecture during the book launch event.
