The NTNU song lyrics were written by the 1st Chancellor Li Ji-gu and the melody was composed by the first Dean of the College of Music, Hsiao Erh-hua. The song was officially announced in March 1948.

The foundation of the nation is education, and teaching is especially important. Learn diligently, advance integrity and maintain good health.

The different colleges and schools go separate ways but their roots are the same. To impart education for greatness in the future are the duties of the teachers.
